With the special packs you find on sale here we used start up funds from the University of Plymouth to buy these packs. Any of the profit that we make from selling these packs will go into the Volcanoes Top Trumps Fund; we are doing this in in our spare time and no money made from the cards is going as profit to us or the Universities!

Some fun facts about us..
David visited his first Volcanoes Top Trumps volcano (Villarrica, Chile) at the age of 7, and wanted to be a volcanologist ever since then. He shares a birthday with the 1980 eruption of Mt St Helens, and has visited or climbed ten of the VTT volcanoes so far. His favourite volcano that didn’t make it into the pack would have to be Oldoinyo Lengai, in Tanzania – possibly the strangest volcano on Earth.
Jenni’s first ‘volcano’ summit was Tinto Hill ( a ~400 million year old felsite intrusion in Scotland) but the first ‘active’ volcano she climbed was Grimsvotn. However that didn’t make the final TopTrumps cut! The most Wow! volcano for her was Crater Lake; the sheer size of the caldera left behind by its largest eruption is just stupendous. Her favourite Top Trumps volcano to visit again and again is Soufriere Hills Volcano, Montserrat. There is something new to learn everytime and the island of Montserrat is very beautiful.
Paul’s favorite volcano is Stromboli, Italy which did make the final Top Trumps cut! What more could you want than almost guaranteed volcanic activity, pizza and beer all in the same seat? However Soufriere Hills Volcano follows a close second, having spent lots of time there and seen lots of amazing activity in the late 90’s, and then 3 and half years as Director of the MVO. The island of Montserrat feels a bit like a second home.
